The train is a popular way for visitors to travel, so even with extra services and adjusted schedules, stations can get extremely crowded before and after the event. Waiting times can reach two hours. Consider an alternative mode of transport, such as the official Dutch Grand Prix Shuttle or Park + Bike. With the Dutch Grand Prix Shuttle, you get a guaranteed seat and fixed arrival and departure times, or you can use Park + Bike to cycle past the queues.
Consider alternative transport options
• Park + Bike: Park your car and cycle the last few kilometers to the circuit.
• Dutch Grand Prix Shuttle: Get picked up at a stop near you and travel to Zandvoort comfortably, sustainably, and with others.
If you do travel by train
• Buy your ticket in advance or check in with your OV-chipcard, debit card, or credit card (except AMEX).
• Leave early so you don’t miss any of the race program.
• Expect long waiting times at departure and consider staying a bit longer after the event to enjoy the Fanzone or visit activities in the center of Zandvoort.
• Check the NS app for the latest travel information.

ALL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSThe first trains arrive before the gates open, and the last trains depart from Zandvoort Station late into the evening. Check NS.nl for the current schedule.
Please note: The train is one of the most popular ways to get to the event. Even with the maximum number of extra trains running, wait times during peak hours can reach up to two hours. We expect the biggest crowds before the Sprint Race on Saturday and after the race on Sunday.
Don’t want to miss any part of the race program? Then make sure you’re on one of the first trains to Zandvoort. On Saturday morning, extra early trains will be running from the following stations:
Weert: departures starting at 5:09 a.m.
Zwolle: departures starting at 5:40 a.m.
Enschede: departures starting at 5:04 a.m.
Elst: departures starting at 5:32 a.m.
Breda: departures starting at 5:27 a.m.
All departure times will be available in the NS Travel Planner starting July 31.
After the races, we recommend staying at the circuit a little longer, if possible, to avoid the heaviest crowds at the station.
No, traveling to Zandvoort by train is not recommended if you have limited mobility. There are no additional general disabled parking spaces available in Zandvoort. We therefore advise regular visitors with limited mobility to travel via the Dutch Grand Prix Shuttle or to park at Park + Ride in Amsterdam-Zuid or Amstelveen and continue their journey with Connexxion.
During the race weekend, 12 trains per hour run between Amsterdam Central and Zandvoort aan Zee. However, due to the high number of visitors before and after the event, waiting times at Zandvoort Station may still reach up to two ours.
To avoid the wait, consider spending more time at the event area, exploring the Fanzone, or enjoying Zandvoort itself. Waiting times generally decrease later in the evening.
