Sustainability
At the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix
Sustainability is a key concern for the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix. Read below per topic which policies the event follows.
Mobility
We are fully committed to sustainable transportation. With 40,000 bike parking spots, we encourage visitors to travel to the circuit in an eco-friendly way. As a result, only 2% of visitors now travel to Zandvoort using non-sustainable methods. We also carefully monitor all transport movements and use only electric buses or buses powered by HVO100 fuel.
Energy
Green electricity is the standard on and around the circuit. Thanks to fixed power connections and our partnership with Aggreko, the entire paddock runs on sustainable energy. The newest generators use HVO100 fuel, and off-site power supplies ensure an energy-efficient setup.
Nature
We do everything we can to protect our unique environment. Behind the scenes, 100% of waste is sorted and recycled. We use sustainable cups, including new coffee cups made entirely from plastic-free, plant-based pulp. Special cleaning teams work in the dunes, and through our Nature Preservation Program, we ensure the area looks just as beautiful in 2026 as it did in 2020.
Social
It’s important to us that everyone feels welcome and safe. That’s why we provide a low-stimulation room, audio description for blind and visually impaired visitors, Sunflower keycords, and a comprehensive Care Court. Together with partners such as Ambulance Wish, the Esther Vergeer Foundation, and the Fund for Disabled Sports, we strive to make it a great day for as many people as possible.
Economic Sustainability
We are investing in the future of the events industry. Through year-round training programs, we support the development of new talent. We also offer opportunities for people with barriers to employment to join our volunteer team.
